One of Keeneland's founders was Hal Price Headley. He is forever remembered because the 4 1/2 furlong course, The Headley Course, is named after him. Another of the Keeneland's founders is immortalized as well, with the 7-furlong Beard Course named after Major Louie Beard.

The Toyota Blue Grass stakes race takes place in April - normally in the middle of the month and on a weekend. The Toyota Blue Grass stakes race has a $750,000 purse and the action is intense. It is a Grade I event that is open to three-year-olds only. The race is a one and one-eight mile long. It's not to be missed. The Toyota Blue Grass is the major stakes race of the season at the Keeneland Race Track.
