Lone Star Park
Lone Star Park is a massive racing facility which spans over 315 acres of land in Grand Prairie, near Dallas/Fort Worth, and is considered the premier horse racing venue in Texas. The facility opened in April, 1997 and hosted almost 22,000 spectators on its Grand Opening Day.
Lone Star Park Track Layout
The track has a one-mile clay oval that is 90 feet wide and measures 950 feet from the final turn to the finish line. The turf track is a 7/8 mile oval with six degree banking on the turns and checks in at 930 feet from the last turn to the finish.
Track History and Quick Facts
It features a seven-story grandstand area of about 280,000 square feet. If you prefer, you can stay down on track level, or opt for various terrace and box seating. This area boasts more than 600 TV monitors and a huge Jumbotron in the infield.
Simulcast wagering is available seven days a week and features dashes from all across the country, while the Lone Star Park also hosts some major live races on Texas Mile Day and Lone Star Handicap Day. All traditional horse racing bets are accepted including trifectas, exactas, and daily doubles.
