Meadowlands Racetrack
Opened in 1976, and affectionately known as “The Big M”, Meadowlands Racetrack is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and is one of the most well-known harness racing tracks in North America. It also hosts a six-day thoroughbred meet each year in November as well.

In 2004, Ron Pierce reclaimed his glory by chalking up his 5,000th career win. He did it with a fleet footed filly, Rainbow Blue, who was named the Horse of the Year. 2004 was also the year that attendance got a shot in the arm. The highest turnout in ten years, 30,117, was treated to great harness racing as Windsong's Legacy won the $1 million Hambletonian. Little did they know it, but they were seeing history in the making. Windsong's Legacy ended up becoming the first Trotting Triple Crown winner since 1972.
