Thistledown Race Track
Thistledown Racino is located just outside of Cleveland, Ohio, and offers live thoroughbred racing eight months of the year. First opened in 1925, the track is known as the home of the Ohio Derby. It has been a racino facility with VLT gaming since 2012. It holds a joint racecard with River Downs.

Founded in 1925 the Thistledown Racetrack is a one-mile oval located on 128 acres and is ten miles southeast of Cleveland, Ohio. They offer great race betting odds in a casual atmosphere and one of the longest racing seasons in the country. They also have a well-deserved reputation for having one of the finest thoroughbred dirt tracks in North America.
The crown jewel of the racing season at Thistledown is the Ohio Derby, a top stakes race for three years olds. The 1 1/16 mile race offers a purse of $300,000.
In addition to live racing, Thistledown offers full card simulcast horse racing from popular racetracks around the country seven days a week. They offer late night simulcast racing (until midnight) Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday so bettors can enjoy west coast horse racing. If you are an early riser who likes to beat the crowds, early bird wagering is available at the track on live racing days starting at 9:30 AM. The Earlybird Pavilion has self-serve machines and can be accessed through the gates at the west end of the grandstand apron.
