In addition to live harness racing, the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, is a complete entertainment, gaming and shopping complex, owned and operated since 2005 by the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, offering casino games since 2010.

The Pocono Downs racetrack was purchased in January of 2005 by the Mohegan tribal gaming authority (MTGA). The Pocono Downs racetrack was purchased for $280 million. In 2006, the race track and Mohegan Sun, a casino area which features slot machines, food courts, and offices began to be constructed. The Mohegan tribal gaming authority has spent millions of dollars on an extensive renovation project for Pocono Downs.
